How Not For Profits can get the most from Influencers

A social media influencer is a user on social media who has established credibility in a specific industry.

If you have followers that are passionate about your cause, you may consider working with them as an influencer as it is highly likely that people that follow them will also be interested in your cause.

An account can be considered influential if they have 500+ followers as long as their followers are real people and not ‘fake followers or accounts’. These accounts are considered to be nano influencers and will be able to reach other people in your target market as generally their followers will have similar interests.

A perk of using an influencer is that their followers would trust their word more so than a brand or organisation. This is because they are doing it purely out of passion – unless there is sponsorship involved – and will ultimately have no reason to support the organisation other than that they strongly believe in the organisations cause and values.
