Marketing analytics is the process of measuring, managing and analysing marketing performance to maximise effectiveness and ultimately optimise the return on investment.

It is important to measure our marketing efforts to:

1. prove that the marketing efforts are working

2. ensure effectiveness and optimisation across channels

3. evaluate opportunity costs

By measuring our marketing efforts we can report on the past to make sure our efforts for the future are improving, analyse current results to determine where customers are being most engaging with our advertising, and predict or influence our future marketing efforts.

You can use softwares such as Google Analytics which is a simple, free option or Adobe Launch to manage your marketing performance.
